Craigs List work from home Scam

Posted by Working From Home Resource On August - 22 - 2008

Work From Home- This “company”, if you can call it that, is running work from home job ads on Craigs List. They send you an email and tell you that they want to hire you to send out mailings for their company. They then say that they will pay you $400 for your time and also pay for the postage. A day later you receive an email saying that the money for the postage was mailed out to your address. Then you get an email the day after that saying that they made a mistake and sent you $3000.00, to please cash the check and keep the $400 owed to you and send back the rest through Western Union. This is the old check fraud scam, just in a new package.

Look for the red flags on these type of scams. First of all they are not really giving you very much information on the job you will be doing, the main focus will be around the money. Second, any legit company will not make a $3000.00 accounting error and if they did they would cancel the check right away and issue another one. They would not take the chance of trusting someone they never met to send back their money.

This scam has left many people broke. Some banks will not see that the checks are no good, until days later, after you have sent the money back to the scam artist. Then you are left responsible for covering the bad check. So if it does not seem right, run. Don’t get involved in these scams out of greed. It will get you into trouble every time.

WHAM’s making money with affiliate marketing

Posted by Working From Home Resource On August - 16 - 2008

Affiliate marketing has become the new work at home craze. Affiliate marketing consist of marketing the products of another company in order to collect a commission for your referral. You can do this several ways. By either building a website focused around a single type of product or several products and promotes the products of other companies, or if you are not a web savvy person, you can promote products through owning your own blog, through sources, such as WordPress.
I just attended the Affiliate Summit East in Boston, this past week. I was really surprised to see exactly how many people there were, that were actually doing affiliate marketing as a full time job. There are so many “brand name” merchants, who are also using affiliate marketing to promote their products. Some of the merchants using affiliate marketing include; PetSmart, singlesnet, Office Depot, PlayboyStore.com and many others.
The way you become an affiliate for these companies, is to sign up for their affiliate program direct from their site, or you can sign up with one or all of the many affiliate networks, like Commission Junction. Signing up with an affiliate network allows you apply for and monitor more affiliate programs, through a single source.
Affiliate marketing is newest favorite marketing avenue and I believe that it will be for some time to come. Companies will always market their business and will always look for the latest, greatest way to do it.

Even the Government is now allowing telecommuting.

Posted by Working From Home Resource On August - 14 - 2008

A bill was passed in June 2008 that will allow some government employees to telecommute. On June 3, 2008, the House passed H.R. 4106, the Telework Improvements Act of 2008. The bill would require Federal agencies to establish and implement policies regarding telecommuting.

This is the start of corporate America moving toward a flexible work environment. Right now about 53% of Americans work from home and the numbers are growing at a rapid rate. I know for some people telecommuting seems like just a dream, but mark my words, in the next five years I think it will be closer to 80% of Americans working from the comfort of their own homes.

With most of the textile and mill type jobs being moved overseas, most jobs now preformed in the US are office type jobs, that can be done from any computer connected to the internet. Not to mention all the software now available to monitor employees remotely. Even the “control freak” CEO can relax without having employees in eye view.

Companies are also realizing that they can save overhead by not maintaining a building to house employees 5 days a week. They can even shut down the office and go home themselves. No more paying vendors to supply their office with things like coffee, cups, paper towels, housekeeping, utility bills, and so much more.

So keep watching the post here. I will be updating you of new companies who have stepped over into the telecommuting world as I get the information.

Customer service is the most popular type of job that you can do from home. Most
